Who Doesn’t Love Peach Cobbler?

Ronnie, one of the main characters in Book 1, Fool Me Once, has a friend who lives next door. They see each other often and talk on the phone or text several times a day, which is a great way to advance the plot. Ronnie knows Mindy hates to cook so imagine her surprise when she calls Mindy one day and finds her blanching peaches. What???

Mindy’s friend, Sara, is a county girl and she brings over a bag of peaches, showing Mindy how to drop them into boiling water for 30 seconds, then ice water for 10, and peel the skins right off.  Mindy brings the cobbler over to Ronnie’s that evening when the two women get together for dinner. They pour a glass of Merlot, sink into porch rockers, put their feet up on the railing and discuss the events of the day…and who did what to whom.

The two women are so close that it’s even more of a surprise in Book 2, A Bitter Wind Blows, when they have an epic falling out.

At this time, Book 1 is presently in the first round of edits and Book 2, a stand-alone sequel, is a work in progress.
